Getting signal from 1 PC to the other

I want to hook up my old PC so I can get the signal from the new PC. What kind of cables should I get and can there be any problems.?

I have Verizon Fios internet connection?

If you're using a wired connection, just connect them both to the router using standard CAT5 patch cables.

You have the Actiontec MI424WR wireless router, right? If you have either or both machines connected using a wireless connection, you can network the two. What's "with a remote" mean?
