VoIP Router Question - What Should We Use?

Hello All,

Ive been doing a lot of reading on installing a Trixbox VoIP server for our business. We are looking at installing the Trixbox to terminate a T1 connection for incoming calls. However, we are not sure what sort of hardware we will require for the main router. We currently have 2 DSL connections, and we plan to use one of these for Outbound VoIP calls only, and the other for our normal data and VPN.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what hardware we should use for the router? I am thinking a Cisco 1841 with 2 DSL HWIC's.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of configuration? Any thoughts/ideas are most welcome.

Thank you kindly,

Daniel

Re: VoIP Router Question - What Should We Use?

I would recommend going w/ Cisco Call Manager vs the Trixbox. It may cost more but it's worth it for the outstanding support.

If you go w/ a Cisco solution you will get pre-sales support from their sales engineers who can tell you exactly what you need for free.

Good luck...

Re: VoIP Router Question - What Should We Use?

thank you for your reply petronius. However, we have already made the decision to go with the Trixbox server in our instance. The main thing that we are not 10% sure on is what would be the bets router to terminate everything into.
We are looking seriously an an 1841, and i would like to know anyone's thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance
