Can't access internet after installing renewed Trend Micro PC
Hi - First time user/poster, and not real savvy with computer troubleshooting.
Our teenage son's laptop computer will not allow connection to the internet and the address - regardless of what we type in all we get is "Res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shclcoclc.dll/navcancl.htm". This problem began after we purchased and installed another subscription to Trend Micro PC Security. We first updated Trend on my husband's desktop and my laptop had no problem. Needless to say I was surprised when the third computer experienced problems. We use a wireless router for the two laptops. Windows XP is the OS for the desk top and our son's laptop. Vista is on my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EMKK Last edited by EMKK : 12-06-2007 at 03:13 PM. Reason: saw i dropped a few words in original description of problem |

Re: Can't access internet after installing renewed Trend Micro PC
First off, try a system restore to before the upgrade. If that doesn't do it, let's try the following.
Uninstall the Trend package. Do the following stack repair. TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reboot the machine. If this restores function, try reloading the Trend package again.
