Setting up wireless network

Does anyone know if you have to have some sort of software to setup a D-Link DI514 router?

Also, I have followed step by step instructions from the following link (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...reless.mspx)on how to setup this network and for some unknown reason I cannot connect to the internet. I setup everything as instructed and I connect and power on in sequential order. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Any ideas???

Hey Ccureton,

That link doesn't work.

Any required software would have been shipped out with your router. If it's a standard setup you're trying to do, you won't need to download anything 'extra' as such to be able to work it.

Re: Setting up wireless network

Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
  • Turn off everything, the modem, router, computer.
  • Connect the modem to the router's WAN/Internet port.
  • Connect the computer to one of the router's LAN/Network ports.
  • Turn on the modem, wait for a steady connect light.
  • Turn on the router, wait for two minutes.
  • Boot the computer.

This should get you a wired connection to the router.

To configure wireless, take a look at this guide: http://www.portforward.com/english/r...C/wireless.htm
