Saving IP information for multiple networks
Hello,
I am running windows vista, and I commonly connect to windows networks using tcip protocol. One of the main networks that I connect to requires that I type in a specific ip address, DNS server etc. The others require that I check the box marked obtain ip address automatically. Every time I check this box it deletes the ip information that I need to connect to the first network. Is there any way to save the different ip settings so that I don't need to keep retyping in my ip information every time I connect to a different network. Thanks, cjkogan111 |

Re: Saving IP information for multiple networks
When you obtain the address automatically its the DHCP server that is assigning you the address. Every time you connect to a network where you have to select obtain an address automatically it's unlikely for you to get the same address every time. You can document that by issuing ipconfig /all and you will observe you get a different address everytime. So i think there won't be any help in saving any IP configuraration

Use the alternate network configuration capability. http://www.lockergnome.com/nexus/win...tion-in-vista/
