Intermitent internet with new router

We just purchased a laptop with a Belkin "G" type rounter. It was working fine for a month or so then all the sudden we can only access the internet sporadically when the router seems to want to work.

We finally just by-passed the router to our comcast modem to get on the internet.

I'm guessing we got a defective router since it seems to work occasionally.

Any other suggestions? Thanks.

If wired connections to the router are problematic, try the following.

Reset to factory defaults and reconfigure. If that doesn't work, try upgrading the firmware and see if that helps. Note that you MUST power cycle the modem when you change from the computer to the router being connected to it.

If those measures don't help, it's time to send it back to Belkin.
