Hi problem using Ethereal software
Hi,
I am facing one challenges have 2 IP adresses for communications am accessing one of the IP using telnet. The OS is Linux. We are transferring data between these IP s over TCP/IP.There is a requirement arised, we have to see the details of packets transferring that we are using Ethereal software, through which we can analyze the packets. For that we have to install the software in one of the server, but it is not possible for us.We can install it in local server and can access the server using telnet. Is there any tools for satisfying this requirement? With regards, Shine |

Re: Hi problem using Ethereal software
Use TCPDump on the server, a well known command line program and then import the data from it into ethereal/wireshark running on a different computer.
Most Linux distros will also provide TCPDump as part of their standard repositories (assuming use of the RPM or APT package managers) and isn't that difficult to install from TAR ball either. |
