Installation of a Laptop to Wireless

Hello I have a brand new Laptop and wish to connect to the internet via my wireless router
the router in Question is a Phillips SNB6500 and we are successfully running 2 computers from it already, although dont really understand where the wireless bit ties in, as we have cables running from both computers to the router and from router to modem so the wireless thing puzzled me slightly. Anyway the laptop will be mobile and we would like the ability to access the internet from various locations around the house but are unsure on how to install it. Help would be apreciated.

Re: Installation of a Laptop to Wireless

Hi Raincheck,
Welcome to the forum.
There should be no installing involved other than connecting to your wireless router. If you can give me the make, model, OS of your laptop. I will be able to help you. Does this laptop have a wireless card installed (internal or external).
Thanks,
Bill

hi think u should check on yo wireless network card if it is installed and if it is not then try to get that.alternatively if it is installed then u can try to put up a wireless access point that can strenghen the wireless signal reception to yo laptop.
