Cannot log onto random sites(suspected Ip problem)
---Introduction---
I'm new here so the first thing I would like to say is hello and that I am sorry if this has been posted on here before I checked the search nothing came up. ---Problem--- Alright I cannot log onto random sites. I say random because none of the sites have anything in common(Walmart is one and another completely text site, there is more these are just a few). I know it is not a browser problem or a site problem(I have tried on firefox and IE) and I have gained access to these sites on a different computer.I also know its not a trojan or virus problem. I suspect it is an IP problem because I can log onto one of these sites from my computer through a proxy (any proxy) though I could be totally wrong. ---Conclusion--- Any help would be appreciated I thank you for your time and I am sorry if its been posted before or its in the wrong spot I am new here please be patient have a good day. |

Re: Cannot log onto random sites(suspected Ip problem)
Actually, since the Proxy starts the DNS search from the proxy site, that doesn't indicate much about the issue.
Do this with one of the problem site, say Walmart. Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: TRACERT walmart.com Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Cannot log onto random sites(suspected Ip problem)
Alright I did some more research turns out I did a ping on my router and I got
"Request timed out Request timed out Request timed out Request timed out" But when I pinged google I got Pinging www.l.google.com [209.85.165.104] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 209.85.165.104: bytes=32 time=32ms TTL=245 Reply from 209.85.165.104: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=245 Reply from 209.85.165.104: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=245 Reply from 209.85.165.104: bytes=32 time=32ms TTL=245 Ping statistics for 209.85.165.104: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 32ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 32ms This is getting to be very annoying plus I get the same tracert report from my post above (different site and ip of course) with all sites. I don't understand why it was all working fine ill a while back |

Re: Cannot log onto random sites(suspected Ip problem)
Let's try replacing your DNS server. Follow the instructions at OpenDNS for Windows and configure to use OpenDNS for your DNS server. See if that makes a difference.

Re: Cannot log onto random sites(suspected Ip problem)
Nope nothing, On a side note its not the router I plugged directly into the internet with no router and still nothing. Also I do not know if this is normal (I do not think it is) My ip address keeps changing every day and I do not know the cause of it.

Re: Cannot log onto random sites(suspected Ip problem)
Unless this is malware, I'm not sure. Let's see a HijackThis 2.00.2 log.
