Grin Help Networking 2 Pcs using NTL Modem and Belkin Router

Firstly,Hi to all on here. Just started on this and I hope I can give help as much as to ask help.

Right, now for the pain in the neck question...

I have one Pc Connected (Win XP , NTL)

I have the standard NTL Cable modem, which I have wired through a Belkin Modem/Router. This works Perfectly.

Now the tricky part.

Another pc is bought into the question, this is a Win XP Pc and have got a Belkin Wireless Adapter.

I tried setting this up but some strange reason when one pc is connected, you cannot connect to the other pc on the internet.

Im probably doing this all wrong but I thought its best to get some help from the professionals !!!

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me in my troubles.

Connect the modem to the WAN port of the router, not one of the LAN ports.

Re: Help Networking 2 Pcs using NTL Modem and Belkin Router

Ive Looked for any other places other that the Lan Ports to place it but to no avail? The only other hole is the one with the symbol of the telephone but it does not fit?

It is very strange as thats the first thing I looked for to plug it into but there isnt.

Thanks.

(If its any help is a Belkin Modem/Router G Wireless)

Re: Help Networking 2 Pcs using NTL Modem and Belkin Router

You have a modem/router, it's not compatible with another modem. You need a router with an Ethernet WAN connection, not a DSL WAN connection.

Time to go router shopping.
