Re: Internet Connection Drops / Network related

hi i am having a connection drop problem i have a N series Netgear wireless router 2 pc and one laptop all running Vista i have just changed ISP and when i am in a middle of playing BF2 online or chatting on MSN my connection would drop yet when i go into the routers directory and look on connection status it says its all up and connected to the ISP yet i cant open even a single website or sign into MSN. i rang my ISP up 2 times now about the same problem and they said it might be a software problem but i know for a fact that it isnt i have taken all my computers around my mates house and tested if i could connect and i was able so it cant be software related.i even changed the filters on the router and even the router aswell to the G series and still the same, and when i go into Run - CMD and ping a website i get a good ping result. can anyone help me ? this problem is a right pain in the &$%

Re: Internet Connection Drops / Network related

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

I've created a new thread for your issue here.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: Internet Connection Drops / Network related

is your wireless N router by chance a WNR854T gigabit 4 port switch etc? If so you might want to see if you can do a firmware update followed by a factory reset and see if that fixes it. If you have the same router as I then be prepared to possibly return it to netgear as I have 7 of these things all in different buldings and some of em decide to stop working altogether, and I end up having to swap em out with netgear.
