IP system changed, Ping no longer works
Hi Guys,
We've just changed our network from 20.0.0.x to 192.168.0.x Since then 3 of our 30 machines are not showing the change (when you ping the computer's name it still tries to ping it's old 20.0.0 address) They are all up and running on the network with no problems apart from this. So far we have tried rebooting them, taking them off the domain and re-adding them, deleting them from active directory and re-adding them but nothing has worked. What exactly tells your computer which I.P. goes with which name and how can I update it for these 3 computers? Thanks, Leigh |

On your server, open DNS and delete the entries for the questionable workstations. Reboot the workstations. Last edited by crazijoe; 01-10-2007 at 09:28 AM. |

Start, Administrative tools, DNS. Expand "server name", expand Forward Lookup Zones, click "FQD name". All clients DNS names will be here. Just right click and delete. Do the same for the Reverse Lookup Zone.
