Trouble sharing a printer
Hello,
I am having a problem sharing a printer through my wireless network. The printer is installed on a Gateway PC running XP home. The Gateway computer is also "hard-wired" into the wireless router. I am trying to print from my laptop which has a wireless network card. My laptop can access the internet and can view the computers on my network. However, every time I reboot my laptop, I have to manually go to my network places, find the Gateway PC, and log onto it using my user name and password before I can print. I also have another PC using a wireless networking card that does not need to manually log onto the Gateway PC in order to print. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help. |

What OS is the laptop? Security software on both the laptop and the Gateway PC?

Norton's Security Suite is a little tricky to work with as far as guaranteeing what you are enabling and disabling (opening/closing). For further troubleshooting lets disable the Security suite on both machines and see if you can access your printer.
