Network Cuases Comp to Freeze
So, my computer has been freezing for sometime, all this time i thought it was the comp or the screen. It snot. It only happens when i connect to the network. I am at college, and when Im connected to their internet, after a couple minutes, my comp randomly freezes, completely. I did see that there were some DHCP errors, but I odnt know if those are directly related.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I could not suggest anything besides scanning for virus/malware/ADWARE.
Download AVG (Free Anti-Virus) Download Ad-Aware Personal SE Personal (Free to use) These can be downloaded from downloads.com. Also delete your temporary internet files and cookies in internet explorer. That is a start. But because you freeze after being online for 10 minutes... good luck downloading the above software. You may need to download it to a USB thumb drive on anotehr computer... then install the software on yours. Also, what operating system are you running? Does it have service pack 2? And what type of errors occur with your DHCP... send them in your next post. |

I agree with the idea to scan for spyware/malware, that's the top suspect. The fact that it happens only when you're connected to the net seems to suggest someone has compromised the machine.
