Problems with Static IP
Ever since I reinstated an old image, my static IP has ceased to function properly, I immediately restored the gateway, IP and DNS values as they should but for some reason it still doesn't work.
The reason I know something is wrong is because I tested it with a program called BattleLan, for those of you unfamiliar with this program it allows you to add IP addresses to a table and the run the program allowing you to connect to the LAN games of the IP addresses on the table provided that they have yours as well. Before I had a static IP I was unable to connect or even see their games in LAN mode because of my router not having the proper ports open, then someone configured the static IP for me and everything worked, unfortunately now I'm stuck gameless because, once again I am unable to see or join their games as they are equally unable to see or join my own. Any theories or further questions? Thanks in advance. |
