You need to have something actually connected to the NIC. After all, the media IS disconnected with nothing plugged in.

whats the NIC? everything is connected to the appropriate ports??? i found out that the ip address on the connection is something like 0.0.0.0 for all the fields so something must be wrong then right? i cant ping the other computer or nothing. My computer tells me that the device is running normally but it doesnt pick up that somethign is connected to it?? |

NIC - Network Interface Card
If everything is plugged in, please supply some needed information. Make/model of the router, modem, and NIC. Version/patch level of Windows in use. Also, do this: Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window and type: IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
