i have the same problem but this is what i get. it doesnt want to connect this is the first time i've ever connected my linksys router, i can't install any drivers or connect to the internet for it to let me.

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread. Thanks for your cooperation.

First off, swap the cable, and connect to a different port on the router. If that fails, try the following Automated WINSOCK Fix for XP, reboot and see if you're connected.

If you're still not connected, try:

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2.

For these commands, Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log
