Hi All,
We have two subnets in our network. 1 subnet having 200 users and the other 150 users common among them are our dual homed servers DC, DNS, Mailserver, etc. Presently, we have a cascaded internal network i.e. local switches at every department. Now we are restructuring our layout to a centralized switching design. Our switches support 10/100Mbps and are stackable providing 4Gbps backplane. Also we are putting our servers on a Layer 3 gigabit switch and connect out switch stack with the Gigabit switch. I want to find out whether this new layout will improve our network performance considerably or not. I don't know how to calculate the switch stack backplane requirement :( Any and all help will be highly appreciated :) Regards, Davar |
