Home XP Netwotk. Not able to read files or use printer on other PCs on the network
Hello everyone. A small success story. I have a small wireless home network (two PCs using XP) that I could not get to talk. The machines recognises that the other PCs exisited on the network but that was it. With help from this forum I switched out the third party firewalls (One machine has Norton the other McAffe) and just used the Microsoft XP firewalls. It all works just fine.
I had another problem that the forum did not help me with. I could connect through my router (Belkin 125) to the internet on both machines, but on one machine I could not get the administrator account to connect. All the settings were the same. Eventually I just tried selecting every tick box in the set up dialogue boxes. Nothing worked. I then reset them all to where they were in the first place and "Bingo" I have connection. Don't you just love software?:frog34: |

That's why they call it computing. You just didn't realize that most of the "computing" was you thinking about all the problems!
