First try at wireless networking
My roomate had a wireless router laying around, so we decided to hook it on up. Everything went alright, he started up and connected right away because we hadn't set security yet.
When I tried to connect though, it wouldn't let me, but it didn't pop up any error messages. It can see the network just fine, it just won't connect to it. Any ideas? and we haven't set an encryption yet so that isn't the problem.

First, try resetting the stack, I'm assuming XP-SP2 here.
TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2. For these commands, Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt. Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log Reboot and test. If that doesn't do it, do this: Start, Run, CMD to open a DOS window and type: IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

It's curious that the ACT light doesn't blink if you see the network.
What happens when you try to repair the connection?
