Network adapters are Killing me!!!

ok here's my problem, first off i have dial-up which sucks in the first place but living in the sticks...it's the best you can get.

Anywho, well I tried to dial-up and get online when i got a message saying that there was a problem. So I called my network provider and everything checked out ok, so then i grabbed my wife's laptop and tried and it worked great, tried mine, same problem. So i checked my device manager, and i find that on my network adapters there is an exclamation point in a yellow circle. So i checked them out and this is what it said:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. the driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) - This comes up on all of them.

here are my adapters:

Atheros AR5004G Wireless Network Adapter
Atheros AR5004G Wireless Network Adapter-Packet Scheduler miniport(broken)
Realtek RTL8139 family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC #2
Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast ethernet NIC #2-Packet Scheduler Miniport(broken)
Realtek RTL8139/810x family fast Ethernet NIC #2(Broken)
Realtek RTL 8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC #2-Packet Scheduler Miniport(Broken)
WAN Miniport (IP) - packet Scheduler Miniport (Broken)

I've tried uninstalling but it tells me that my computer needs it to reboot, so i took out my recovery disk becuase it will let me re-install those drivers. I tried to reinstall but i still get the same problem. I've tried to troubleshoot, but that just got me no where, i've also tried to disable and then enable but nothing.

I hope there is something that i can do to fix this because i've run out of options. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Those devices you have listed are for networking, not dialup. If your connection is indeed dialup, through a telephone line, and not DSL, then you need to address the problem with your modem. Can you find a modem in your device manager? and is a problem indicated?

definitely a modem problem. hmmm..............on the device manager, just like the other post said do you see a modem list? if yes, click on it and see what it says.

then i would recommend going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the modem drivers.

Uninstall ALL of the adapters listed, broken and otherwise. Reboot and see if it gets itself sorted out.
