URGENT! help with server 2000

hello, I got a problem:

there is an excisting network - based on server 2000, sitting inside a workgroup, we'll call it a.
this a workgroup itself is located in a workgroup, B

when i come to add the new pc, win xp, to the network, i can only add it to the outer workgroup, b, and no matter what i tried cannot acess the a workgroup - it says access is denied.

the server gives permissions only to people inside group a, where its located.

how can i add the win xp pc to group a, or how can i grant permission to a pc outside workgroup a?

Thanks in advance.

Perhaps a schematic of your network would help .... show routers, servers, IP scheme ...

ok, the server itself doesnt provide the ip range as it itself located inside the network (ip 132.68... its a lan inside a company)
i cannot determine inside the server which pc is the admin since it grants it every time to another user (i dont know how)

how can i make the server add a pc from outside his workgroup?
the new xp gets a legal ip from the lan and same default gateway like the rest of the pc's able to see the server
all the other pc's are configured to be inside the inner network a and the outer network b, how did they do that?

Again, a diagram would really go a long way to clearing this up.
