Who is connecting to my PC?

Hi, I use a wireless Windows XP computer to connect to broadband through a wireless router. Very often when I shut down I get a message saying:

Other users are connected to this computer, shutting down will disconnect them

Why am I getting this message?
Are other wireless users connecting to my PC?
Thanks

I'm not sure. Have you secured your wireless connection (MAC filtering, encryption, disable SSID broadcasting)?

My System

That is totally possible if your neighbors are close enough. <50 ft most wireless. Is there any way to stop it? I am not sure.
Edit: Check out the network & security under networking. Or Search for Secure wireless. I found the info there.

If you access your wireless routers setup , there should be a page where you can see a log of who has been connecting.
As noted, you should secure your wireless with WPA and require a password to access it and once you have configured all the machines you will be using ,turn off broadcast SSID so that others do not see that there is a wireless network .

Actually, if you enable WPA with a long (20 char) and random key, turning off SSID just makes it harder for you to connect.

Do you have Windows accounts on the computer with NO passwords?
The first thing you should do is to create a decent Windows password
i.e. 1 Upper case letter, a number, and at least 8 characters long.

If you use Windows XP Pro then set the shared folder permissions
to a user account you created, instead of Everyone, full control.

Make sure your Guest account is turned off.

To see who is connected to your computer go to My Computer,
right click select Manage, then Shared Folders, and Sessions and
this will show all the information.
The other simple way is to bring up Task Manager and go to
Users and it should so anyone connected.
