no ethernet

ok ive got a problem where i have no lan. I have a nforce4 board and even when i install the drivers for it, it doesnt. So i cant get on the internet to get any updates so i dont know what to do. Ive had another n4 board do this exact thing so i dont know whats causing it. All it shows in networking is a 1394 which is useless.

Yea the 1394 is a firewire connection. You'll need to know what NIC (network card) you have installed so that you can find drivers for it. If you can find that out, we can link you to the drivers.

Other than that you could check in your device manager and see if it can find the drivers on it's own. Many NICs have drivers on the windowsXP cd which may be all you need.
