Can't Access Own Web Site From Laptop

I know this has to be a confiuration problem somewhere in my router, but I can't resolve it. I have a Linksys BEFSR41 4-port router that my server and a workstation are connected to. Connected to that router, I have a WAP11 router that 2 PCs and 1 laptop are connected to remotely. I host my web site from my server, and never have trouble accessing the pages, either locally or through the domain.

However, right now when I try to access the domain using my laptop, it directs me to the Linksys setup page. No matter what specific web page or virtual directory I try, every attempt to hit my domain or even the local computer name sends me there. This is a brand new laptop, and briefly, I was able to access my site. Then I updated the firmware, had to reset some things, and now it just won't go.

Another smaller issue is that I seem to be losing my connection every half hour or so for about 5 minutes, though it's not very consistent. Any advice on these will be greatly appreciated.

try putting http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1

if that works, to make it permanent you will need to edit your HOSTS file so that your computer thinks that your domain is the same as the localhost designation.

Please post back if you need help finding and editing the HOSTS file.

Thank for the response. I tried http://127.0.0.1 and localhost, they didn't work. I apologize, I should have mentioned that the laptop is not actually logging into my domain. All of the other systems are, but since I'll be travelling with the laptop, I want to try to keep it off of it. I am able to map drives if I use proper username/passwords, so I have access to shared resources. And obviously, I can get to my router's 192.168.1.1 address. And the Internet works. But when I try to go to my www site, it hits my router address. I'm betting that if I take it out somewhere and get on the Internet, I won't have the problem. Any other suggestions?

Well, I run into the same problem... I get around it by using localhost.

When you use your ip address, your router recognizes it as yours and "helpfully" sends you to the config page. Your request to your webserver never actually makes it out of the router and back in for testing purposes, it just loops around in the router.

I don't know what else to tell you, sorry.
