Network Neighbourhood Problem
Quote:
I hope you can help me. Something is really messin with my networking and I'm totally out of ideas. Win XP Pro, SP2 I cannot view workgroup computers. When I try it sits for a couple of minutes then gives me the following error: [Workgroup] is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Also, the workgroup does not appear as it should and when I try to change it back to the original I get this and workgroup name Another system on the network can still print to a printer attached to this computer. However, it can't browse. Internet access is fine. I've checked everything I know to check...thoughts are very much appreciated? I've started the Computer Browser from services.msc . But the same problem persits. What can I Do? I can access the computers and shared folders using \\computername. But these Computernames are not displaying in Network Neighbourhood. FYI: Some of what I've tried: - Scanned for viruses with current Norton - Scanned for spyware (Ad Aware & Spybot) - all clear - reset TCP/IP stack - did more harm than good - Uninstalled Zone Alarm firewall, Windows firewall turned off - no affect -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I've split your thread off, we work on problems one at a time in separate threads.
In TCP/IP properties, is NETIOS over TCP/IP enabled?
