I'm have 3 computers networked to mine using the Microsoft Broadband Router. The 3 computers use the MN-510 adapters.
Once or twice a year, one or two adapters just stop working and I just buy new one's out of frustration. The new one's do work. But I keep running into this problem... such as now. I keep assuming something must be wrong with the settings. But when I plug in a new adapter, everything works. Something must be wrong somewhere. Currently, I can't ping one of the computers and it's adapter just blinks. I have DHCP enabled... everything worked for a year and the adapter just stopped on it's own. The IP just reads 0.0.0.0. I don't think it's interference because an adapter from another computer works on it. But, 1 adapter + 3 computers = a catfight. This is starting to get expensive buying new one's all the time. I even re-installed XP again, system restore, re-installed and updated the network card, etc.Any ideas what's going on? |

Why do you keep buying unsupported NIC's? Buy a different brand!

Microsoft got out of the hardware business, they no longer sell any of that equipment.

Oh... so I suppose not using Microsoft for my networking isn't the best thing. I've been using the MSBN for a few years now and have been buying new adapters on ebay.
Any suggestions what brand I should switch to? One that doesn't have these problems... |

I've used D-Link stuff for some time now with no issues.
