I am connected but I am not receiving packets?!?!

i do not know why, ive tried the ipconfig/release and renew commands but they dont work...

i am lost...

we need a big more info on your network. how many computers are you running on your network? what broadband connection do you have? do you have route? switch? sorry if im annoying your with my questions but definitely more info is needed.

Have you resolved the problem in this thread? Default Gateway is Missing :(

If not, I suggest we close this thread and work on this in the thread in the XP forum.

okay.. im on XP, i just bought a linksys WRT45G router... im on comcast, lemme post my ipconfig/all gimme a minute i have to use a flash drive for the file cuz i have no internet on that laptop

So you are on a differant internet connection and router than you were in the other post?

If so, you should go back to the xp post and tell them you no longer need help on that thread.

You are getting a 169.x.x.x. ip address. This says that the router is not giving windows an ip address.

!!!! issue resolved! i dont know whath appened i just reinstalled linksys and everything changed everything got mad and just went crazy and now it works ^_^

thank you every1 who helped me! u dont know how much this means to me ive called dell like 4 times and stayed on the line for like 8 hours

wahooo! i get packets!
