Trying to set up a wireless network
Hi,
I wonder if you guys can give me any help. I've recently got a laptop and want to set up a wireless network with my PC (share Internet connection, printer, files, etc.) but I can't seem to get it to work. I've run the WinXP Wizard but although it said that it's part of the network it doesn't actually detect any wireless network! My PC has a D-Link AirPlus DWL-520+ Wireless PCI Adapter and my laptop has Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection. Neither computer can detect each other. For some reason my laptop is showing that a 1394 Connection is active but I have no idea what that is and it won't let me disconnect! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, James |

First off, you need to configure the two wireless adapters in ADHOC mode, since you're trying to connect directly. Ignore the IEE1394 network, it won't affect you, that's the Firewire interface. Finally, only use either the Windows Wireless Zero Configuration or your adapter's configuration utility, don't leave both enabled.
