Wireless networking & antennas
I wasn't quite sure where to put this thread... so just put here.
Anyway, a friend of mine wanted to do some wireless networking with his laptop. It has a wi-fi chip, but thats not quite enough range, so I was wondering how far the average antenna went, or if there was another way to boost the signal?

When the cantenna first appeared it was a home-made aerial using an empty dog food can and a wire. I remember reading about them over 2 years ago. So now they've gone into production
.....you could still make your own if you wanted to boost your signal for free.
