Wirelss Capability Fail

Hello Everyone,

First I would like to thank everyone in advance for reading my thread and trying to help me solve my problem.

My laptop likes to disconnect from the wireless every now and then. I have to restart my laptop, click on internet explorer, and let it diagnose the problem, and automatically solve the problem. The problem is always that the wireless capability was switched off, which is weird because i don't turn it off.

1) Restart
2)
3) Click Diagnose
4) Click turn on wireless capability
Anyways, my process takes too much time.

So my Question is:

A) I would like to know why my laptop has a tendency to switch off the wireless capability by its self, So Annoying

B) I would also like to know if there is a faster way than my method. (A fast way to turn on wireless capability without restarting and doing all the stuff I mentioned).

* Note that if I don't restart it, and I click on internet explorer, and let it diagnose the problem, it won't work. Instead it would give me a pile of **** solutions that aren't automatic, and don't work when I do them.

Have a nice day,
Cheers

Re: Wirelss Capability Fail

Hello NeedHelp0123 and welcome to TSF!

Are there other computers connected wirelessly in your network that's having the same issue as yours? Have you tried plugging your computer directly to the router or the modem to see if you're having the same issue?

For now, please try these resolutions, it might help:
First: Please try this TCP/IP fix tool from Microsoft => http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357. Now, see if this fixed the issue, if not go to the second solution.

Second: Run Malwarebytes and see if it detects something and resolved your issue. http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebyte...-10804572.html. Try connecting to the Internet

Third: Click on Start, right click My Computer => Properties => hardware tab => Device Manager => find your Network Adapters right click on the Ethernet Adapter (it might have a !)and choose Update Driver. If you have an ethernet driver CD for your Wireless adapter have it ready, this will be the last suggestion, choose Uninstall then re-install. Normally your Windows will do a Plug N play auto install for you, but just in case you might have your CD driver ready. If you do not have the Driver CD, you may google the driver.

Fourth: Power cycle your router and modem (have you done this yet?) in this order:
1.Save all your current work, close all open applications, then shut down your computer. Wait for a minute.
2.First, turn your Router off and wait for a couple of minutes.
3.Turn off your modem.
4.Disconnect all the ethernet cables that are connected to the router and modem and the PC.
5.Reconnect them and ensure that there are no loose connections in between them.
6.Now, switch on your PC and let it boot.
7.Switch on the modem first and after it gets initialized, switch on the router.

Fifth: Update your router's firmware as well.

Pls. post back results.
