I have an XP desktop and a laptop that is running Vista and my router is a 2wire
tech specs: LAN Interface - 4 port 10/100 Ethernet with Auto-crossover (RJ-45); 802.11g or high powered HyperG access point ADSL Device configured for AT&T DSL services Manufacturer - 2Wire PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) gateway / pass-through WAN Interface - ADSL (RJ-11) When I first got it (a year ago) setting up the network so that I can print from my laptop from anywhere in the house was not a problem. Not until I did a windows update a few months ago is when I could no longer connect the laptop to the desktop. I've tried some many different options. The desktop is currently running XP Sp3 and I just recently added the Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder and still nothing. Any suggestion?

Re: Network path not found Error code 0x80070035
Let's see this from each computer.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands, one at a time, followed by the Enter key: Note that there is a space before the -n or the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the - or / in the following commands. NBTSTAT -n IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Network path not found Error code 0x80070035
The problem appears to be there is no master browser in the network.
Check your Services are Started on all PCs:
Note: You can check the services in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. All of these services should be started, and their startup type should be automatic (or perhaps manual). If a service is not running, open it's properties and check the dependencies. Check each of the dependencies and see which one is preventing the service from running. Checking the event log is also a good idea here, there may be clues to what is failing.

Re: Network path not found Error code 0x80070035
On the laptop (Vista) all the services are running and are set to automatic or manual, but on the desktop (XP) "computer browser" is not on and when I try to start it I get the following message, "the computer browser service on lacal computer started and stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance log and alerts service."
In dependencies it shows server and workstation in box 1 and in box 2 it shows No Dependencies |

Re: Network path not found Error code 0x80070035
Do you have any resources shared on the XP machine? If there are no shared folders, it may not start.

Re: Network path not found Error code 0x80070035
What other devices are in the network? Please be specific about all switches, routers, other networked devices, etc.
Can you ping between the machines by name? By IP address?
