Only one of two wireless networks is found

I just bought my second notebook Acer Aspire One, running XP. Yes. they are for the kids..
But I cant get my new one to find my wireless LAN router (Dl-524UP). It does not get listed in available networks. The old notebook can find it and connect to it, so the router works.
The new notebook can find and connect wireless top my ADSL-router, so the wireless card works. It can also connect with wire to the LAN-router.
I have tried unistalling wireless adapater so XP refreshed the drivers, without change

I am really stuck here...

The router works
The notebook wireless works connecting to another router.
Other computers finds and connects to the LAN-router with wireless
But the new cant find this network...

Thankful for any ideas, this will keep me awake all night...

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

Maybe you have the SSID hidden on the non found one.

Manually set up a wireless connection and type the EXACT ssid with correct capitilazion and such. See if it will connect to it then.

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

Does the acer have a newer wireless that like mimo or "N". It may not be backward compatible to the dlink.

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

In researching, make sure "G" mode is enabled on the new acer laptop. Check the device settings.

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

Note really sure where to set this G...
In advances properties I have the property IBSS 54g(tm) ...
I tried changed to "54g" auto and "54g performance", without any positive results.
Is that the one you are thinking of?

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

I was hoping it was there yes. Sometimes you can set them to b only or g only are all.

Have you tried uninstalling reinstalling the wifi card in the laptop?

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

Yes, I uninstalled / reinstalled...
Same result...

The wireless adapter is a Broadcom. I get quite a few hits when searching for issues with wireless, Broadcom and Dlink. But as it works together with my other router (Xavi) my guess it that is OK?

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

Try Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and see if it detects the network from that machine.

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

I downloaded Xirrus WiFi inspector to both Acers.
The 'old' one found both, the new one found only one.
Attached are screenshots from both.

Re: Only one of two wireless networks is found

I suspect your new Acer is configured for USA wireless, which only has channels 1-11, the missing WAP is on channel 13, which is most likely not being searched.
