Question Turn a Switch Port Light Orange

Hello,

I am trying to figure out what port on a cisco switch a PC is plugged into and was wondering if there is a way to turn the light orange on the switch from the PC. Can I use a crossover cable or cut a twisted pair in the cable to get the orange light? I need to do this for a few PC's so just unplugging the cable and shutting the light off won't work for me.

Thanks

Re: Turn a Switch Port Light Orange

A LAN tester is gonna be your best option at this point. Money well worth it too.

Would that send a signal to the switch to get me the orange light?
