I am using a WPN111 Netgear adapter and a Cisco WRGT54G2 v1.3 router.
I have highspeed internet with Optimum. I have 2 computers both are windows xp professional, vers. 2002, service pack 3. One computer is hooked into the highspeed internet and the router and is working fine. The other I am trying to get to go wireless with the netgear adapter. So far every time I try to go online (w/adapter) I receive a 'strong' to 'excellent' signal but 'limited or no connectivity' message. Tried to trouble shoot to find the problem and all I could discover was that "the network did not assign a net work address to this computer"(w/adapter). Still learning my way around the hardware/software install thing. Can anyone help me with this? |

Re: Netgear adapter will not connect to internet.
Well, the first thing to do is to remove any stored wireless network profiles and search for networks. When it finds your network, make sure you enter the correct encryption key. If you're using the Netgear wireless client, you may try Windows WZC to see if you have better luck, be sure to stop the Netgear client in this case.
Next, if you still don't have success, try it with a wired connection and see if it connects that way.
