Calculating bit error probability
Hi all,
I would like to calculate the bit error probability and packet error probability in a network. The network characteristics are : the network uses handshaking protocols, so after sending a packet the sender has to wait for an acknowledgement packet. Only then can it send another packet. The transfer time of the acknowledgement packet is negligible and it is assumed that the sender transmits the acknowledgement immediately after receiving the packet. Propagation delay is 5 microsec transmission delay is 10 Mb/sec. I know I need the distribution function of the random variable which describes the number of errors in a packet. Could you please help me ? I have not found any method on how to calculate those probabilities ! Thanks, atticus |
