Arris CM450 Cable Modem

It won't work on Ethernet connection?

USB way is working...

I'm trying to connect my 2nd PC on same modem via Ethernet.

I tryed directly PC--Modem and also PC--Router--Modem

I think something about modem isn't working cause the light on router won't stop blinking when conected to Arris Modem...

Thanx in advance

Re: Arris CM450 Cable Modem

From the wall it should be jack - modem - router - 2 PC's... what's the model of your router? and what OS is your other pc?

when you have your equipment hooked up correctly and if one of your pc's still can't get online, try holding down the windows key on your keyboard + R key to bring up the run box, then type in "cmd" and hit enter to bring up the command prompt.

then type in "ipconfig /all" and paste the results here

Re: Arris CM450 Cable Modem

You can only connect to either the Ethernet or USB connection, not both. Connect a broadband router to the Ethernet connection and connect all the machine to that, problem solved.

Re: Arris CM450 Cable Modem

My router is D-Link DSL-584T, operating sistem is Windows7(1st PC) and XP Pro(2nd PC).

Also router cannot connect to PC if IP adress on network adapter isn't set
to 192.168.1.xxx

192.168.1.1 is adress of the router for enter settings, but wnen i type that in IE it won't connect if the IP on network adapter isn't set manualy on 192.186.1.xxx(any numbers)

Re: Arris CM450 Cable Modem

When each of the computers are connected, please post this for each of them.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Arris CM450 Cable Modem

Turn off the modem and the computer. Connect the computer network card directly to the modem. Turn on the Modem. Boot the computer.

Post another IPCONFIG /ALL
