feed a usb wifi signal into a router?
i have a 500mw usb wifi card and can connect to a network with about a 50% signal. i have a linksys router with ddwrt on it. i tried repeater mode on the router but the signal is not strong enough to pick up. so i was wondering if i could somehow use my computer i am receiving the signal on and send it to the router via ethernet to rebroadcast it so i can pick it up on my other wifi devices??? thanks!

Re: feed a usb wifi signal into a router?
Hi,
What is the model number of the router? Its possible to rebroadcast the wireless signal, What you need to do is configure the ICS in the 1st computer and connect the linksys router to the 1st pc lan port and configure the router as an AP. But the speed will be very slow. Regards, L8ians |

Re: feed a usb wifi signal into a router?
I'd just pick up an Ethernet equipped wireless bridge to connect directly to the router properly and eliminate ICS from the picture.

Yep, DD-WRT supports wireless bridge configuration.
