westell 327w as wireless access point
Hi
I have 327w router need to make it as wireless acces point to connect to another router westell 6500. The wired setup works fine. but Can I setup westell 327w as wireless access point to connect to westll 6500's wirless. if so how? If I enter the credentials of primary router I think it is acting as wireless distrubution system and confliting with primary router's wireless and disabling the wireless. I have device that I need to connecte to wirless bridge and I am trying to make 327w as wireless bride to connect to another westell 6500 router connected to internel by dsl. By the way I have already disabled the DHCP and making it as bridge and setting up the IP of 327w outside of the dhcp range. Thanks in advance. - K |

I don't know of any way to make that router function as a wireless bridge.

Re: westell 327w as wireless access point
I am thinking to buy one of them but they are pricey. TRENDnet 54Mbps 802.11G Wireless Access Point , Linksys by Cisco WET610N Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge with Dual-Band (This is the only one supported by sony bravia KDL46W5100 46" LCD TV as per the manual the device I am trying to connect)
I have few other router netgear MR814v2, GT704-wg any ideas if these act as wirless bridge. |

Re: westell 327w as wireless access point
An inexpensive router that I've used here that has wireless bridging is the ZyXEL P330W. Here's one place with a decent price on it: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re...ews/B000AAQQBC

Re: westell 327w as wireless access point
I have purchased the WG602v4 to setup as client mode in the bridge configuration. when I do the site survey I am able to find out my wireless dsl SSID but not able to connect to it. When I select and apply it cannot associate my AP and the bridge. any ideas?
I have tried wireless bridging but looks like it only works with 2 same type of bridging devices. Karim |

Re: westell 327w as wireless access point
The manual for that device seems to indicate that it wants to talk to an identical unit. I've never used that one, the one I suggested works with any router in bridge mode.
