Hi there.
I have just turned on my desktop PC after being away for 4 days. Before I went, I had no problems. Nothing at all has changed in the mean time. I am using Windows Vista. I can't connect properly to my router using a wired connection. I have reset the router, i've reset the netsh using instructions from microsofts website. I've obviously tried restarting the computer. I can only seem to get a limited connection. The IP Address details aren't what they should be. It has an autoconfiguration IPv4 address of 169.254.209.238 and the gateway is 255.255.0.0. Can anyone suggest anything that I can try and sort this please? Thanks very much in advance. Craig UPDATE: I tried doing a ipconfig /release and then an ipconfig /renew from the command prompt, but got the following error message. An error occured while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. I don't know if that will help anyone be able to help me. Thanks again.
