Slow D-Link 2640R Router
Hi there,
I'm connecting to the internet through a D-Link 2640R router. It's connection speed isn't great, however every few minutes the connection bottoms out completely. I've accessed the setup and the internal reports indicate I'm receiving 8Mb download to the router. Broadband speed checkers indicate a max of 2Mb to the computers, and down to 300Kbs when it bottoms out. Engineers have tested the line and have informed me there is no error on the line, and that recently there have been noise reduction improvements that have been successful. Original setup was a desktop PC and a laptop connected via wireless. Now the PC is cabled in and the laptop is wireless, with no improvement. Is there some setup in the router that is restricting my speed? ![]() Many thanks Chris |
