1 Computer 2 routers 1 internet connection
Ok i will attempt to explain this as thoroughly as possible.
I work at a Chrysler/GM Dealership and we have a new Diagnostic tool, called witech. It is a wireless router that has a pretty strict internet policy that only lets you go to the chrysler tech website, dealerconnect.com. the problem is that it will not let me connect to the GM Tech website thru this wireless conection because of the policies. Now i have installed an old linksys router of mine, a wrt54g, it can use wireless as well but i have a cable connection to this router and it is connected to a hardline to the dealerships network hub and internet connection. I only use the wireless on this router if i need the GM service information inside a car. to simplify, I am connecting wirelessly to witech and the to the internet and wired to a router then to the same internet connection. Now the problem lies in the router i'm pretty sure. Because when i'm connected to witech wirelessly and connected to the router via wired connection i have no internet but if i unplug the router and go from my laptop straight to the wall outlet i have internet on both connections. So my question is what do i need to do to get this working with the router in the mix. thanks for any help you can offer in advance. Bill |
