OS: Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger
|
I have been trying to upload files to several different sites using several different FTP clients (Fetch, FireFTP and FileZilla), with no success.
I'm using a Macbook Pro, OS X 10.4.11, Tiger. I have a cable modem, set up by Comcast. I have previously been able to use Fetch, FireFTP and Cyberduck with success. But now for some reason, I keep getting a message that the server dropped the connection. Depending on the FTP client, I either get a connection that is immediately dropped, or it never connects. Here is an example of exactly what it says with FileZilla: Status: Resolving address of upload.dreamstime.com Status: Connecting to 74.55.198.172:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Error: Connection closed by server Error: Could not connect to server After a LOT of research on the web, I learned how to ping. And the message I got was that 10 packets were sent and 100% were not received, 100% loss. I've reset my modem, I have no firewalls, no routers (this is just one little laptop trying to connect to sites on the web). I've verified that port 21 is not blocked and I'm correctly set to passive mode. HELP, please! |
