Cannot find computers with the same IP address
Hello:
I'm just installing a 8 Windos PC's small network using static IP addresses ranging from 192.168.1.65 to 192.168.1.72 but when configuring PC 4 I get a Windows XP error that the IP address (192.168.1.68) is being used by another PC. I checked all PC's and none of them is using that IP address. I have another problem with this PC. It has the onboard LAN which is not working and a PCI LAN card which is the one being used. I already disabled the on board LAN from the BIOS and deleted it from Windows XP manager but everytime I set the IP address I get a warning message that this IP address could be used by both devices and may not wrk properly, so it's like that LAN card is still on Windows XP even though it does not appear neither on the device Manager nor on the network connections. Anyone knows what could be happening? Thanks |
