Remote Screen Viewing/etc.?

I have no idea where to put this question, so please forgive me if this is the wrong area.

I am looking for an application I can run on a couple of my computers so that I can view their screens from my laptop. I want to be able to see exactly what they are seeing, without them knowing (maybe run the program as a background service?).

I heard tightVNC would work for this, but haven't tried it yet. I need some that is fairly easy to set up, and is very secure...and preferably free. Any ideas?

Re: Remote Screen Viewing/etc.?

Any VNC programme would do this, but they generally have an icon in the tray which turns a different colour when in use.
Anything which runs "in secret" would come under the heading of spyware, and I don't think such discussion is proper on this forum.
