What is connecting to my network?

hi
A while ago I came across a standalone exe from microsoft (i think) that showed ALL of the applications that were connecting to the internet.

Are you aware of the prog I am refering to & can help find it, because I cant.
alternatively, can you recommend something what will show me what is connecting to the internet (nothing technical, just this and that and this type thing)
