Strange router behaviour
Earlier on i accidentally knocked out the plug powering all my electronics.
![]() Anyway, plugged it back in, everything fine... that is except my internet, go to connect and this is what i'm looking at: ![]() (linksys is the connection) I thought this was strange, earlier on in the year i put a password on (WPA2-personal) so people couldn't steal my connection, apart from that there's no other passwords. I type in the password and that message ^ doesn't change. I don't understand though, i know the password, i've even told my brother it down the phone months ago and he got it working, i've tried a handful of times and it simply won't work... what's going on? i've only got the internet working now as i've unsecured the network. Something isn't right somewhere, my iPhone is connected to the internet all the time in the house, to the connection in question, since it got switched off earlier it won't stay connected for more than a minute or so then it disconnects. Re: Strange router behaviour
Generally that means that your router has something like WEP or WPA or some other security enabled and the security settings you have on your computer are different.
Delete that profile and let it redetect the connection, input the neccessary passwords/keys and you'll be good.

Re: Strange router behaviour
That's what's confusing me, there was only ever 1 password i gave the connection, and i know it was the WPA2, i've tried it in every place i could (just incase) but nothing works.
Should i just reset to the factory default? i just dont want to do anything that will mess up what i have (like i say, i do have the net now) Last edited by Lostnumber; 09-14-2009 at 05:08 PM. |
