Cannot connect ot internet with Wireless network card
Not sure if this is an OS or hardware issue.
I have a 4 year old Compaq that has been very good to me. Lately it has been slowing down a bit and taking forever to reboot bakc to log in screen. Then very recently I have not been able to get an internet connection. IE loads up but I get a blank page that says "Page can not be displayed." Then it gives a bunch of suggestions to try, which I have to no avail. The Pc is connected to my other PC via a Belkin wireless card. The status on it shows "excellent" connectivity. I thought it might be related to the slowness of the PC, a virus or the like, so I perfromed a limited recovery - resinstalls, drivers, OS and preinstalled software. I reinstalled my Berlkin driver and was able to connect to the internet. This is why I think it might be OS related. However a few minutes later I tried the internet again and it failed. I compared the settings on this pc with my laptop and they seem to be the same. Any thoughts, anyone? |
