My router wont let me play Diablo2 online
When I connect to the game it wont allow me to play stating ports 6112 aret open. Problem is, they are. I can actually connect sometimes and play, but usually that message appears. I bypasses my router by plugging my pc into my modem and was able to connect each time.
I heard somewhere to tracert is and if "request timed out" showed up it was the router not allowing me into the game, and I do see quite a few of request timed out, and also thoes * and idea why it would tell me my ports are closed when theyre not. PHP Code:

Re: My router wont let me play Diablo2 online
Please verify if all these ports are open for Diablo II.
Diablo II: - Allow port 6112 TCP out and allow established sessions in - Allow port 4000 TCP out (realm games) - Allow port 4000 TCP out and in (hosting open games only)

Re: My router wont let me play Diablo2 online
Have you tried changing your DHCP settings to Static IP. Before you do this, you'll have to do an ipconfig /all from the command prompt, and make a note of the configurations.
From your LAN(Local Area Connection) properties, change Obtain an IP address automatically to "Use the following IP address". Do the same thing on the DNS settings type everything manually, use the configuration settings from ipconfig /all. Pls. update me.

Re: My router wont let me play Diablo2 online
Did you manually type this in? It should be correct if you are able to get it to the internet. In the command prompt, can you type this ==> ping 24.46.215.232 -t
Let it run for about 1 minute and let me know if there's any time out, we are looking for any inconsistency. How about your DNS settings, is it auto configured? Change this to Static IP also, whatever your DNS's are.

Re: My router wont let me play Diablo2 online
I didnt manually type that in, it was there all ready. It was just set on "Get Dynamically From ISP"
I havent tried to tick the "Use Static IP Address" cause i dont wanna get disconnected from the internet forever if it was wrong :o my DNS settings are also on "Get Automatically From ISP" Last edited by soulja234; 08-31-2009 at 05:53 PM. |

Re: My router wont let me play Diablo2 online
Did you make a note of your DNS's? Pls. use the DNS that your ISP provided you as your primary DNS. Without your DNS you won't be able to access the internet.

Re: My router wont let me play Diablo2 online
Your 192.168.1.1 is your Primary DNS. You may use that one and below you may use either one of these as your secondary, these are Public open dn's. Let me know.
Or you may use the first 208..... as your Prim. DNS and the second 208 as your second. 208.67.222.222 or/and 208.67.220.220
