network printer problem
Good day, I just reconfigured my network to work with the settings of my new ISP. The laserjet 4200n hp printer became inaccessible after it was reconfigured. I manually configured it from its front panel. when i ping from my system, i get the error "destination host unreachable", its the same story when i connect it to my laptop using a cross-cable. Can someone help me urgently. Thanks

Re: network printer problem
Assuming this is on a network, make sure you have the printer set to automatically pick up an IP number - by DHCP.
If that doesn't work, you may not have DHCP configured in your router. |

Re: network printer problem
From the printer itself, navigate on the screen, go to the TCP/IP setting and make sure that it's set to manual, not DHCP. From your computer, open up a browser, type the IP address fo the printer and default it to manual not to DHCP. The reason for this is, anytime that you shut off your printer it it shut off by itself, DHCP will release a new IP address and no one will be able to print.
After you have change it to manual, go to your computer's printer setting and change the IP the same the printer's IP address. Pls let me know if you need a more detail walk through on how to do this. This will resolve your printing issue. Glad to help out.
